OMFG!
Sorry I have to fag out a bit! Into the Woods is playing Shakespeare in the Park this summer! So excited! I am interested to see how they change it (I just read the casting notice) it says they’re having the Narrator be played by a kid! Oh man, so excited!  I will actually buy tickets to this since I MUST SEE IT! *burts into flames, cos I’m being so gay*

Improv Notes
Great Improv Notes from Morgan Phillips last night’s Dumpster Tequila rehearsal.  - When you play a character that is different, such as a mentally handicapped characters, don’t just make them mentally handicapped, make them characters that you care about. And think of your personal gauge as this “If you saw the type character you were playing in the audience would you regret...

Old
I don’t consider 28 old, I never have, I don’t consider 40 old either. But there are days when I feel old.  Yesterday was a prime example. One of our former interns came back to the office to visit, and I realized she’s doing things that 18 year olds do, and I found myself telling her to be careful of what she puts on the internet because that stuff stays there forever. Case in...

Ladies!!!!!!!!
Where my girls at? Now that you’re here, I have a question for you. It’s a serious question. This morning I saw a girl in leggings, light jacket, and fashion scarf (read not dressed appropriately for the 20-something degree temperatures). The first thing that pops out of her mouth is “I’m so cold” then she starts to shiver, and cuddles up to her boyfriend for...

improvobsession: They’re not that funny. By the time you actually go on a date with someone you met on OkCupid or Match.com you probably know them fairly well. People don’t just see photos of the other person and go on dates. So stop acting like strangers. If you’re going to act like strangers, and one character… Agreed

Bonding over Parody.
As some of you know, I have a twitter account for Fake Michelle Duggar (@fakemduggar). Something odd has grown out of my parody of her and her obnoxiously large family, a strong sense of protection.  I started the account as a joke to tweet the feelings that I figured were really going on in her head, since no one is that nice. Then it evolved into a separate story-line of me creating a different...

Nickel Creek
In college I found Nickel Creek, I listened to their music all the time, then I forgot about them, that is until last night, I was watching The Kennedy Center Honors and saw a familiar face during the tribute to Yo-Yo Ma, it was Chris Thile, the mandolin player from Nickel Creek, apparently he had recorded a bluegrass with Ma. I remember going to a Nickel Creek concert in Portland and how amazing...

With the coming of a new year, we’re all very aware of everyone setting New Year’s Resolutions, but most people never stick to them, often breaking them and failing them within the first month.  I have decided that I do not need to set resolutions for myself, instead I have set out a list of goal for 2012.  1. Be more active (note this is not lose weight, it’s simply be more...

Dear Ryan Murphy:
Hey Ryan,  It’s me, Evan, I know you’re pretty busy what with your successful new show on FX. But there’s something I’ve been meaning to talk to you about. Glee.  What happened? The first season was fun, and you made us care about the characters, now it seems like you’re not even trying. I think you need to hire more writers, I read in Jane Lynch’s book that...

Dear Editors.
Since I am so disenchanted by everything and have become cynical, I feel like now would be a good time to start writing letters to the editor like a crazy old person.  Dear Editor, Have you ever noticed that sometimes people are all like “I’m going to be in your way when you’re trying to get somewhere important and I know you’re in a rush?” What can you do about it?...

Coffee Shop Opens In a neighborhood known for coffee shops, the East Village welcomes the newly reopened The Bean. After The Bean closed to make way for a Starbucks, it left east villagers wondering where they would be able to get their coffee.  “I walk past three coffee shops on my way to the train in the morning,” stated local East Village resident Guy with Beard and Hornrim...

People Are Stupid
Yesterday I saw a story posted on Gawker about a tourist who lent his credit card to a stranger. Alright so he was an idiot, then this morning I saw a story on the Today Show about a puppy website selling people sick puppies.  We all understand that yes puppy mills are evil, if you want a purebred dog, you have to go to an AKC breeder or go to a shelter and get a rescue animal. The main problem I...

Broadway Musicals!
With the addition of Ghost the Musical to the 2012 Broadway season, here are some more ideas for terrible musicals that could appear on the Broadway stage, all based on movies.  -The Garbage Pail Kids, The Musical! Taking plot elements from the notorious flop film, you could have the kids putting on a show instead of creating a clothing line. They would also have to played by little people in...

Things that will make me fall in love with you
People are always asking me “Hey, how can I make you fall in love with me” so here are a list of things that will make me fall in love with you.  1. Have cool sunglasses that you like to wear at night while walking alone 2. Push me out of the way on the subway in order to get off or on the train without saying excuse me 3. Complain about everything no matter what 4. Listen to your...
